Fargo Local Foods Website on Sabbatical

If you have visited this website in the last two months, you have noticed that it is not being updated. I have not had time to give to it, but you can get updates on national and local news about local foods by joining two yahoo groups.

For local announcements, join My Sister's Farm: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MySistersFarm/. This group is a local buy group that has been a farmer's market in the past. Noreen Thomas is in charge, and she coordinates buying from a number of local farmers who practice sustainable farming (certified organic or organic-like without certification). This group meets about once a month to buy food and to learn something new--speakers or teachers or cooking lessons.

For national and regional news, join Fargo Local Foods http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fargolocalfoods/ . Fargo Local Foods will often share national and international news stories about the local foods movement and sustainable agriculture. It will also have announce about local organizations and their efforts, including the Lake Agassiz Resource Council.

You will need to ask to join once you go to the website, and we need to know that you live in the Red River region of North Dakota and Minnesota so that we don't get spammers.
